We Tried Wingstop’s New Chicken Thighs, Here’s What We Thought

Did you know that there was a chicken wing shortage? Yeah, neither did I until my husband told me Wingstop was starting to sell chicken thighs. Of course when I heard Wingstop was offering something new, I had to try it. They launched Thighstop today. which is a virtual brand that orders through Doordash.

In a press release, Wingstop said that they were launching the new brand at over 1,400 locations nationwide. Many consumers have been fearing the worst with this latest chicken wing shortage happened just before Super Bowl. It’s no secret that many of us chicken wing fans have been watching the price go up and up, so this alternative to the more pricey wings was a welcome change. Especially since we could still get the flavors we loved right along with it.

“Wingstop pioneered the concept of chicken wings as a center-of-the-plate item. Although Thighstop is in its infancy, we’ve been exploring bone-in and boneless thighs as center-of-the-plate options for some time now as a way to offer fans new ways to enjoy Wingstop’s bold, distinctive and craveable flavors,” said Charlie Morrison, CEO of Thighstop. “We’re excited to bring Thighstop to the masses in a way that’s familiar and convenient to consumers by providing the option of delivery or carryout through our delivery partner DoorDash.” To know more about customers’ reactions to these spicy and juicy chicken items, you can go through smartbusinessdaily.

What We Ordered & How It Tasted

The item I purchased for my family was the thigh sampler pack. The cost was just over $22 and came with 4 bone in, an order of bone out and a tray of fries. All of it looked amazing when we got it and I’m happy to say that I fully recommend it to anyone who’s curious.

The bone in chicken thighs were cooked perfectly. The skin on the thigh got that perfect crispy texture with the Winstop signature taste. The only thing I would recommend is probably getting a fork to go with it because it’s slick and greasy.

The bone-out chicken was delicious, and had a juicy and flavorful taste. Think top tier here. I mean if you want me to compare it to something as simple as KFC’s Popcorn Chicken- it’s an oasis. KFC’s offering has always been super dry, and this was like night and day compared to that.

The sampler pack fed two hungry adults and a very hungry growing child. So if you are looking for a quick dinner for a family of three then you should try this. I won’t review the fries here because hopefully if you’re reading this you’re already a fan of Wingstop so you KNOW they’re good. If you haven’t tried them.. you’re missing out!

Fans can get their hands on juicy thighs by visiting Thighstop.com.

My Food Rating on Wingstop’s… er.. Thighstop’s new offerings? 10 out of 10 and will be buying again.
