We are more excited than Olmec on challenge day to share this news! The CW has ordered a revival of 90s kid Nickelodean staple “Legends of the Hidden Temple!” This proto-“Survivor” saw teams of young folks competing in physical and mental challenges for prizes.
Originally airing in 1993 (a full 7 years BEFORE CBS’s hit reality programme “Survivor“), this was one of those shows we wanted to jump through the tv to be a part of.
Based on the game show created by David G. Stanley, Scott A. Stone, and Stephen R. Brown, “Legends of the Hidden Temple” include Olmec, Moat Crossings, The Steps of Knowledge, Temple Run, and all of the original team names like Purple Parrots, Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas, Red Jaguars, Silver Snakes, and the Green Monkeys.
According to the press release, the show will take place in a mysterious jungle, with tougher challenges and bigger prizes. Five teams will begin the journey. But, only ONE of those five will be admitted into Olmec’s Temple to compete.
You can rewatch the original “Legends of the Hidden Temple” on Amazon here.
We’ll let you know what we hear about when The CW’s version is likely to air.
