We understand that for some, “Space Jam” is a piece of nostalgia. Perhaps you saw it on a school field trip, or wore out your VHS during sleepovers with friends. If you’re one of those 90s kids, chances are you’ve been waiting for a 4K Ultra HD release.
Coming this July from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, “Space Jam” 4K, Blu-ray combo pack will have bonus content. But don’t get too excited, as these are previously released extras.
Commentary from director Joe Pytka, Bugs Bunny (Billy West), and Daffy Duck (Dee Bradley Baker)
“Jammin” featurette with Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan
Music videos for Seal’s “Fly Like an Eagle,” and the Monstars’ anthem “Hit ‘Em High”
It looks like it’ll retail for about $24.99, with likely wiggle room for the digital release.
“Space Jam” 4k is currently slated to release on July 6th, just in time for the film’s 25th anniversary. “Space Jam: A New Legacy” will hit theaters and HBO Max on July 16th, 2021.
Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief.
Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence.
Though she be but little, she is fierce.
