Imagine finally getting the courage up to quit your job, but your former boss goes above and beyond to remind you of why you quit in the first place. Andreas Flaten left his job at A OK Walker Autoworks in Peachtree City, Georgia last November. When he quit, Flaten cited it was because it was a toxic workplace. Backing up his claim of the toxic environment is none other than his former employer Miles Walker, who only paid Flaten after he said he was getting a lawyer.
Walker dumped 91,515 oily pennies at the end of his ex-worker’s driveway with a note that said “F— You”.
Flaten’s girlfriend Olivia Oxley posted videos of the pennies and note to Instagram.
My boyfriends last paycheck delivered at the end of the driveway in pennies….at 8pm on a Friday. His last day was in November.
First things first, when he quit he gave a written resignation letter complete with a two weeks notice. After Miles Walker of AOK Walker auto works continued to be the asshole he is and make a normal workday hell, making unnecessary comments about my boyfriends daughter and just be an all around dick, that 2 weeks turned into 5 days. My boyfriend respectfully delivered his uniforms washed and in a box comeplete with another letter as to why he was leaving early. Fast forward 3 months and he was refusing to send out the last paycheck claiming damages to the shop. Once the word “lawyer” was introduced, this is what he did.
1. We can’t even get all the pennies up because they’re covered in some type of oil.
2. Who the hell knows how were going to get them out of the driveway, up into the car, out of the car again, and into a bank or coin star. And that’s if we can even do that because they’re covered in oil.
I’m not sure what’s worse…the fact that this man is so miserable he can’t accept an employee leaving because he’s the biggest asshole I’ve seriously ever met, or the fact that he went through THAT much effort to get $915 worth of HEAVYYY pennies just to say ‘f*ck you’. I mean….couldn’t he have just pissed on the check or something?…..
There was an interview done with Miles Walker of A OK Walker Luxury Automotive, where he claims “he doesn’t know” what Flaten and his girlfriend are talking about. He sounds like a gaslighter, and someone who would indeed be very toxic to work with.
Describing himself as a “honest, hardworking man,” Walker says he knew tons about the pennies. But also said “I don’t know if I did that or not, I don’t really remember.” Prime example of gaslighting. Walker was getting angry that he was being called out for his bad behavior, and then tried to shift the blame. “Don’t you think there was a reason behind it?” insinuating that his ex-employee was responsible for his actions.
The couple have been washing the pennies in batches in the bath tub. “With that many pennies, we’re bound to find a few treasures. I’ve already found one from 1937. After the first shovel full, all we could do was laugh because this poor miserable man took so much time to be vindictive and cruel,” Oxley told Too Fab.
This is a lawsuit in the making, as many of the other employees that previously worked at the establishment have come forward. One woman claimed the owner said “You think you have a bigger D*ck than any of the boys well we’re going to prove that right now,” and he pulled down her pants in the lobby and thought it was funny.
It would also seem that the word is starting to get around and effect Walker’s business.
