5 Best Free Games to Play in 2021

Gamers are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding something to play. Even those that haven’t got any money to spare for gaming can find hundreds of titles to play for free. To demonstrate this, below are five of the best games – spread across five different genres – you can play in 2021 and beyond.

    Dota 2

While there are other MOBA games like League of Legends which could be mentioned, this article will focus on Dota 2. A massively popular title since its release in 2013, Dota 2 is a free-to-play game that boasts a combination of in-depth and exciting gameplay that few others can match.

Plus, if you don’t want to get directly involved in the action, you can even bet on the game due to its status as a major eSports title. Simply search for the best Dota 2 odds’, pick the team you think will win, and then sit back and enjoy the match.

    Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty is currently the biggest franchise in the entire FPS genre. This fact makes it even more surprising that, in March 2020, a free-to-play game in the series was released in the form of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Warzone is a massive battle royale that features up to 200 players. Like other titles in the genre such as PUBG, it is a free-for-all battle until one last player remains. It might not be a suitable choice for those seeking a classic Call of Duty multiplayer experience, but Warzone has proved to be popular with over 80 million downloads in less than a year.

    Brawlhalla

Are you a fan of Super Smash Bros.? If so, Brawlhalla will be right up your street. Even though the character roster doesn’t match up to Nintendo’s classic, Brawlhalla still delivers frantic multiplayer fighting gameplay to enjoy.

In addition, in-game purchases allow you to spice up your character with everyone from Rayman to WWE superstars.

    Rocket League

In 2020, Rocket League shifted over to a free-to-play approach. This news was welcomed by the small number of gamers that had yet to play Rocket League. If you’re one of them, now is the time to download the game.

Who would have thought combining soccer with rocket-fuelled cars would work so well as a concept? It may sound like an episode of Top Gear, but Rocket League supplies one of the most thrilling multiplayer experiences around. The game also has a surprising level of depth, giving users plenty of incentive to keep coming back for more.

    Beneath a Steel Sky

It’s not just modern games which you can enjoy for free. Thanks to platforms like GOG, there are various classic titles available to sample at no additional cost. One of the best in that regard is Beneath a Steel Sky.

For the uninitiated, Beneath a Steel Sky is a point-and-click adventure that brings together a compelling story, interesting puzzles, and a healthy dose of humor. One of the genre’s best examples, the title is ideal for those that seek a more relaxed gaming experience.
