Sounds like fans of Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth needn’t worry about the state of their red and black clad antihero joining the Disney side of Marvel. If you’ll recall, with the wholesale purchase of Fox and it’s holdings, Disney also brought home the majority (minus Spider-Man and a few others) of the Marvel Comics characters, and plans to include them in future Marvel Cinematic Universe releases. Like “Deadpool 3,” apparently.
Following yesterday’s press day for Disney+ MCU series “WandaVison,” there were assurances given by Kevin Feige that not only will “Deadpool 3” fix directly into the MCU, but it’ll keep it’s R rating. Feige also confirmed to our friends over at Collider that yes, Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are penning the script for “Deadpool 3.”
Also, filming won’t be happening this year, but things sound like they’re moving steadily forward:
“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”
We will of course let you know what else we hear about this and other MCU projects.
