Jeff Bridges Shares His Lymphoma Diagnosis With Fans

Jeff Bridges, better known to many of us as “The Dude,” has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He tweeted the diagnosis out to his fans earlier this week.

As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light.

I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good.

I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.

Lymphoma is cancer that begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes. These cells are in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, and other parts of the body. When you have lymphoma, lymphocytes change and grow out of control.

He didn’t mention which stage it is in but it is very treatable if it is caught in the early stages which we hope is the case here. Along with his diagnosis he also encouraged people to vote in the upcoming election because “We’re all in this together”. And he assures us that he will keep us updated on his condition and recovery.
