Halloween is all anyone can talk about this year since the pandemic has left us feeling a bit uneasy. On one hand- we want to go out and enjoy our tradition of gathering candy with the kids. On the other- we also want to play it as safe as possible.
Thanks to Michigan woodworker Matt Thompson of Thompson Woodworks, we have a pretty good idea of what we want to do this year; make a zipline that delivers candy for the kids, and beer for the (21+) parents in a perfectly reasonable and socially distanced way.
He tested this out with some neighbors and posted the video online for all to see. Check out the video below.
Using a fishing line and a cord he was able to rig it so that if he released it went forward, and when he wound up the reel it would come back. Even more genius is that he attached a drill to it so that he just has to push a button instead of physically reeling it back every time. Easy peasy!
