Guinness World Record Just Awarded to Largest Funko Pop Collection

If you think that you have a lot of Funko Pop Vinyls, you might want to think again. I was hesitant to start collecting the strange looking little guys. With them being so popular, they almost assuredly ended up being gifted to me. Especially when the anime ones like Sailor Moon and Naruto came out. One man, however, has been collecting since the get-go and has amassed a collection of over 5,000 Funko Pops. AND, he has just won the Guinness World record for the largest collection.

You can watch the video here.

Paul Scardino has the largest collection of Funko pops. He is a social worker from Virginia and started his collection in 2017. Scardino said:

“I received an email from Guinness World Records in the morning while at home, and I held off reading it until my wife was able to see it. …As I read the email out loud, I felt intense elation and satisfaction, as the months long effort had paid off, and I would officially be a record holder. …I was super excited to hear from Guinness World Records that I was chosen to be in the 2021 Edition.”

He says that his collection started with a Hawkeye and Spider-Man Funko Pop, and it grew from there.

Last count for the video that Guinness World Records came out with was 5,306.
