Mars Wrigley is Launching Virtual Trick-or-Treating App for Halloween

Mars Wrigley Confectionery is creating a new app for Halloween. Many families are worried about taking their kids out and costume sales have actually fallen this year because of it. In order for candy companies to combat people not buying candy for trick-or-treaters, Mars has come up with a new app idea that will allow kids to trick-or-treat in app and then trade their points for candy. You can also buy candy through the app.

    Create your family profile

“Decorate your virtual door, help your kids create spooky monster avatars, and invite your neighbors to join the fun. Starting 10/01/20, sign up at Treat-Town.com or through the TREAT TOWN™ Halloween App.“

    Purchase your favorite candy

Buy virtual candy credits that your trick-or-treaters can redeem for real candy, from brands like M&M’S®, SNICKERS®, SKITTLES®, TWIX® and many more!

So how it seems to work is you can buy a certain amount of candy credits to be handed out to kids, then they can visit your virtual door and get points. Which they can then redeem for candy.

    Trick-or-treat all October long

“One day of Halloween is great. What’s better? An entire month of fun! Enjoy safe trick-or-treating with your family around your neighborhood, or virtually visit friends and relatives across the country.“

Right now the app isn’t live but you can join the list for updates. Not only will you be able to Trick-or-Treat in your neighborhood but they are allowing you to go further than ever before since it is a virtual experience.

“The virtual Mars Wrigley Treat Town Halloween experience demonstrates how we’re reinventing our business to bring better moments and more smiles to consumers” says Anton Vincent, president of Mars Wrigley North America. “Our Mars Wrigley team pivoted quickly to save the traditions and celebrations of Halloween.”

This is pretty cool and you know what? You’re kid can still dress up if they want to. Make it a Halloween month-long event! It honestly sounds pretty fun, check it out and let’s see if this can become an additional thing for families to do during the year. I know personally living in an apartment has always been pretty disappointing as far as trick-or-treaters go. So this is one way that I would be able to “hand out candy” and have kids visit without actually visiting.
