After BTS stood up in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement this weekend in a tweet, they also donated $1 Million to the cause. They are fighting against racial inequality and this is one of the ways that they can join the fight.

But BTS isn’t solely responsible for the donation, part of the money was put up by their record company Big Hit Entertainment. Which shows just how good they are showing which side of history they want to be on.

    우리는 인종차별에 반대합니다.
    우리는 폭력에 반대합니다.
나, 당신, 우리 모두는 존중받을 권리가 있습니다. 함께 하겠습니다.

    We stand against racial discrimination.
    We condemn violence.
You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together.#BlackLivesMatter

The tweet says, “We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence. You, I and we all have the rights to be respected. We will stand together. #BlackLivesMatter”

Variety asked a rep for BTS and Big Hit Entertainment about the donation which was transferred earlier last week, but they probably won’t get a reply since they are not expected to comment.

Kailee Scales, the managing director from Black Lives Matter said in a statement to Variety:

“Black people all over the world are in pain at this moment from the trauma of centuries of oppression. We are moved by the generosity of BTS and allies all over the world who stand in solidarity in the fight for Black lives.”

These boys are doing a great job with their public platform and hopefully many of their fans will be able to either come on board with Black Lives Matter or are already part of the cause.
