Winchester Mystery House Offering Self-Guided Garden Tours

Starting Friday May 15th, the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California will be open for self-guided tours through the garden.

The new tour is called “The Winchester Estate Self-Guided Garden Tour,” and will be a completely new experience for those who have already gone there. It will be a completely touchless experience with around twenty stops throughout the Victorian Gardens’ four-acre property.

Tours are offered from Thursday to Saturday each week with pre purchased tickets. You can get tickets from the official Winchester Mystery House website. Adult tickets are $19.99 and children’s tickets are $9.99. Senior Citizens get a discount and are $15.99.

If you get tickets for this garden experience you will earn a 50% discount for when they reopen the tours for inside the mansion.

How it will work is when you get there you will get a link to a digital map and an audio guide that you can listen to from your phone.

If you can’t make it to the garden tour they are also offering a virtual experience online for just $8.99 where you can walk through Sarah Winchester’s Estate.

The Winchester House is a long time hot spot for tourists and the history behind it is eerie and compelling. Sarah Winchester thought that if she kept construction going on the house that the souls of those killed by Winchester rifles would forgive her and her family. Many people think that it is haunted. It’s seven stories and since she did not use an architect most of the construction was done haphazardly. Which is why doors lead to no where.
