Dolly Parton Sings New Version of “Jolene” to Help with Hand-Washing

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, JO-LENE! That has to be one of the best songs of our lifetime and it’s one that gets frequently stuck in my head. Dolly Parton created a tune that would outlast generations. And now she wants to remind us all that we need to be washing our hands frequently due to coronavirus. She made a cute PSA about staying safe at home and washing our hands and updated her song Jolene to fit the times.

“Well hey there! I’m in here in my bubble making bubbles, washing my hands,” says Dolly. “You know you gotta wash them for at least 20 seconds.”

Dolly says you can sing the new song with a familiar tune while washing. Though you may go over the 20 seconds you need to clean them. But that’s ok because you will be rockin’ out to Jolene.

“Jolene Jolene Jolene Jolene, I’m begging of you, please don’t touch my man,” she sings. “Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Jolene. If you touch him, please go wash your hands.”

Recently she also did a series called Goodnight with Dolly where she read us stories.

“I hope this gift will further inspire a love of books and shared storytime during this important time. … From everyone on our team, thank you so much for inspiring a love of reading in your family.  As I always say — We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails — and we’re going to do just that, together.”

So if you want to get cozy and listen to a nice story before bed watch “Goodnight With Dolly” on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. She kicked off the series with “The Little Engine That Could” and you can go back and watch all of them that have been posted on her pages. She’s up to three of a promised 10 book series. So this would be a nice thing to go back to every week and check in.
