A Much Darker Version of “Scooby-Doo” is Coming

Meddling Kids Productions has just released a 3:00 min teaser trailer for the upcoming fan-made teen-drama series “Mystery Incorporated,” inspired by the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!“.

Mystery Incorporated is a fresh new series designed to tell the story of the characters from Hannah Barbara’s “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” with a modern filter for a new generation. A much darker “Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” vibe follows the team as they are shown to us in the trailer.

Set in the small town of Coolsville, Ohio we follow Fred Jones, a high school baseball star who tragically just buried his parents. Determined to prove that his parents were murdered by supernatural forces, Fred’s search inadvertently crosses his path with that of resident hipster nerd Velma Dinkley, wealthy socialite Daphne Blake, rebel stoner Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, and his dog, a retired K-9 unit Great Dane named Scooby-Doo. When Coolsville is attacked by a dark force from its past, these unlikely heroes must defy the social hierarchy and unite to fight back and save their town.

From the trailer you can see that they things are being taken entirely seriously, as oppose to the cartoon’s camp nature. With the slow eerie music and the jump scare visuals, you’re going to want to watch this with the lights on. Or at least with company. This is the kind of high stakes Scooby Doo a lot of fans of the original show has always wanted to see.

Mystery Incorporated stars Dade Elza as Fred Jones, Jessica Chancellor as Daphne Blake, Dayeanne Hutton as Velma Dinkley, Chris Villain as Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, and Thor VonSchultz as Scooby-Doo.

Mystery Incorporated is directed by Dante Yore of Kick2Kill productions. If you would like to help support the production you can do so by checking out their Indiegogo page!
