Robert Downey Jr. Says Iron Man Could Return

While doing press for his new film Dolittle which he made with his wife Susan, Robert Downey Jr. gave fans hope that we could see his version of Iron Man in the future. While being interviewed by Renee Bargh on ExtraTV she asked him if Iron Man could ever come back. Watch this video at about 4 minutes 30 seconds in to see his response.

“Yeah, anything could happen.” replied RDJ. Which is exciting to know that he’s still on board for future projects. He is supposedly appearing in an episode of Marvel’s “What If….” according to Jeff Goldblum. He said that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning in that way but at the time Disney declined to comment on it. Then Goldblum said he misspoke.

So it’s possible that he’s keeping secrets and he’s already been talking to Disney/Marvel about the future of Iron Man in the MCU. Even though he passed away in Endgame doesn’t mean that movies set in an earlier time couldn’t explore the character further. And that’s only if it’s live action. There are a ton of opportunities that could feature Robert Downey Jr. such as voice acting for cartoons or video games.

What do you think of this? Do you think he was just speaking off the cuff or it’s something more? Tell us in the comments!
