New Details About Disney+’s ROGUE ONE, Prequel Series Based on Cassian Andor

There is some new information on Disney+’s Rogue One Prequel series based on Cassian Andor. According to DiscussingFilm we will be seeing him at two different ages in flashbacks. They also learned that the series will begin shooting in June 2020 in Europe.

When Cassian says “I’ve been in this fight since I was six years old. You’re not the only one who lost everything. Some of us just decided to do something about it.” It resonated on a deep level for fans. Now it looks as though Disney is going to be showing us exactly why Cassian Andor was forced into that decision at such a young age.

“that the series will be providing flashbacks to Cassian Andor’s early days… It seems we are going to see why he joined this fight at such a young age. Lucasfilm is currently eyeing to cast 9 year old and 13 year old versions of Cassian Andor. Lucasfilm is also eyeing to cast a 9 year old sister of Cassian Andor’s. If I put on my theory hat for a quick second, we can guess that Cassian’s sister potentially dies in some sort of conflict leading to him joining the Rebellion to avenge his sister.”

We also know that Alan Tudyk is coming back to reprise the role of Droid K-2SO and Stephen Schiff, Tony Gilroy, and George Lucas are all being given writing credits.

The project was almost cancelled until Tony Gilroy who worked on the reshoots of Rogue One came on board. He is writing the pilot as well as directing multiple episodes with Stephen Schaffer set as showrunner. Schaffer has also worked on “The Americans” which was a hit television show for FX.

This show is said to be filming a month earlier than the much anticipated Obi-Wan series so it’s likely that it will come out before that on Disney+. It’s speculated that it will come out right around the time Mandalorian season 2 premieres.
