Apps You Should Have in Your Phone Right Now

It seems as though many people have strong opinions when it comes to smartphones and technology as a whole. While some of it is understandable, technology should always be viewed as a tool and there are some things that we should thank technology for.

It may sound crazy, but there are apps you can download right now that will make your life easier. Here are some apps that you should consider downloading. You can thank me later.

    #1 – Mealime

There’s nothing worse than coming home from a long day at work only to find yourself hungry. Great. You already went to the drive-thru three times this week, stop it.

Mealime was created by three friends whose own eating habits began to affect them tremendously. They noticed lower energy, high crankiness, and weight gain as a result of poor eating. That’s when they came up with Mealime. Since then, Mealime has been featured as a top meal-planning app time after time.

This app is a meal planner, with all meals taking 30 minutes or less to make. You can enter any food allergies, the meat intake you wish to have, or any other dietary food restrictions you may have. It’s completely tailored to your liking and tells you exactly what grocery ingredients you need from the store.

Mealime is super convenient so there is nothing that can excuse your poor habits anymore!

    #2 – Rakuten Slice

If you’re a fan of online shopping, then you need to really download the app Rakuten Slice.

Once Rakuten Slice is plugged into your phone, it scans any e-receipts you may have laying in your email inbox and logs them for you. From then on, it stores any shipping updates in real time and notifies you if any changes have been made.

With Christmas coming, this can make your life easier. Instead of opening each separate tracking number for every one of your purchases, you can just hop onto the Rakuten Slice app and look at your tracking collectively.

Rakuten Slice also offers a cool feature that lets you know if any of your purchased items went through a price drop. Some stores let you dispute this price change, so you could potentially receive some cash back.

    #3 – Slotomania

There are many gaming apps out there that you’ve probably already heard of, but I guarantee you that none of them are as fun as this one.

It’s becoming more popular to download gambling apps and the best gambling apps mimic exactly what you’d find at a casino. Using real money, you can gamble on slot games using the Slotomania app.

This app holds high-quality graphics and many popular slot games. If you don’t live near Las Vegas, this is ideal for playing straight from your couch. This saves you time and money by not having to drive down to a casino but definitely cures that itch you have to gamble.

Just like regular slots, almost all gambling apps offer the same incentives as the ones you would receive at a land-based casino. Loyalty programs, bonuses, and even high roller tiers are provided through many online gambling sites.

    #4 – Parking Panda

This one is a lifesaver and should be used by everyone. How many times have you caught yourself circling the mall for the perfect parking spot only to find that there isn’t any at all?

Serving most major cities, including New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and more, Parking Panda will search parking lots for you. You can easily score parking spots at a discounted price using this app which is perfect for big events like a baseball game or when taking trips to busy cities like NYC.

You pay the parking through secure services like Android Pay, PayPal, and Venmo.

This app will save you time and pesky headaches, so give this app a try next time you’re out and about.

    #5 – Calm

Calm is an app that guides you through different meditations and works overall as a relaxation aid. It’s nice to have this downloaded onto your phone. You never know when your day will get hectic and you’ll need help relaxing.

    We’ve all been there.

The best part? You can have Matthew McConaughey talk you to sleep. Seriously! This app features different dulcet tones to choose from, including Stephen Fry’s English accent, if that’s more your taste.

Everyone needs something different to help them fall asleep and Calm understands that. You can have those featured actors tell you stories as you sleep, you can watch calming videos, or simply listen to ambient sounds.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Calm was valued at an estimated 1 billion dollars, so that says a lot about how many people use this app.

At the end of the day, we all know we take our smartphones everywhere we go. So, instead of looking at technology as a source of evil, begin using it as a tool. Check out the apps above and use your phone for good.
