Jonah Hill Has Passed A Role On The Batman
Casting news for Matt Reeves’ The Batman project has been coming at us with word that Zoe Kravitz was just confirmed as Selina Kyle. However, that isn’t the only news. And this news being disappointing for many of us.
According to Variety, there will have to be another casting choice for whoever it was that Jonah Hill was supposed to be playing. That’s right. Jonah Hill did not close the deal with The Batman.
News of Hill’s potential involvement came several weeks ago amidst a slew of announcements (including Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright possibly being cast as Commissioner Jim Gordon).
Though the role Hill was set to play was unconfirmed, many speculated he would be a great candidate for Eddie “The Riddler” Nygma or Oswald “The Penguin” Cobblepot. Two of Batman’s most famous and most notorious villains. Both would have fit well into Reeves’ planned “detective-focused” story.
Unfortunately, with Hill officially passing on the project for reasons unknown, it seems Reeves will have to continue the search for his villain. If that is indeed what Hill was set to play as.
However, we can always fan cast while we wait. Who would you have cast now that Jonah Hill is out of the picture?
