Enjoying a Movie Night With the Right Wine

Whether you are lounging with your friends, alone, or with your loved one, a movie night can be enhanced or boosted by the perfect wine. And if you’re having an aged wine, consider renting a DVD instead of streaming to really give yourself the proper cultural experience.

No matter what your genre of choice may be, it looks like there’s a perfect wine for every movie. Check out our recommendations for movie pairings and varietal. Take a read!

    Choosing the Wine

Just like choosing the right film that complements the mood and nuances, selecting a wine goes far beyond the choices of bad and good. Pairing the correct wine is all about or signifies improving a mood.

For the most part, it must pique, beguile, and entice the senses. With regards to pairing wine with food, the aim is likely to be greater than merely balancing the flavors of a dish, since a carefully chosen varietal can make or break the whole experience.

For example, robust Spain wines will perfectly match a thick spaghetti with Ricotta Salata, tomato, and eggplant. However, wouldn’t this Italian dish match better with a bottle of Sangiovese. Well, maybe. In the end, all of it is subjective.

    Horror Films And Cabernet Sauvignon

For sure, everybody likes a good horror movie. With this movie genre, we suggest you pair this with one of the oldest red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon. This varietal is produced in large quantities. However, the quality differs from style to style and region to region.

It is just like a horror movie. You get box office horror films and low-budget event. More often than not, you find a fantastic horror movie and now and then you can get the perfect bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that you were not expecting.

This varietal has thick, tough skin as well as a taste of ripe, deep blackcurrants. Horror film fanatics need tough skin as well so they won’t get scared and jump out of it quickly.

    Comedy Films And Pinot Grigio

Who does not love watching a good comedy film? This genre of movie is great to enjoy with family and friends, easy to watch and makes you feel good as if you don’t have anything to worry. Whether you are watching a modern comedy movie or a classic one, a bottle of Pinot Grigio is your best companion.

This varietal is light, inoffensive, easy, and it is very rare to find a person who does not like a Pinot Grigio. A bottle of this wine goes perfectly with colleagues, and whether you are enjoying a modern take or a classic, it is guaranteed to leave a smile on your face. Thus, we recommend to pair it with a comedy genre.

    Action Films And Merlot

Working together or teamwork is an essential element in many action films, whether you a Star Trek fan or Marvel’s Avengers fan. And the best or ideal varietal to pair it with is Merlot. A bottle of Merlot can be enjoyed alone or with friends to form an intense relationship.

This wine alone can outstand any other varietal. However, when combined with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, or Shiraz, it undoubtedly does create a more powerful flavor. One of the best characteristics of this wine is that it provides great value for money.

It is just like any action movies with a whole lot of entertainment, spills, and thrills to throw in your face.

    Romance Films And Pinot Noir

For sure, all of us needs a dose of romance in our lives. Perhaps you are a huge fan of the romantic flicks such as How to Lose a Guy in 10 days, Hitch, and Love Actually. Or maybe you prefer the classics such as An Affair to Remember or Casablanca.

Such movie genre would, without a doubt, suit a bottle of Pinot Noir. Although this varietal can be challenging and difficult to grow, if you do it appropriately and correctly, Pinot Noir has a glut of subtle and soft flavors, as well as a rich complexity and a juicy, soft texture.

Moreover, Pinot Noir happens to be among the three varietals used to produce Champagne, which is a luxurious drink.

    Takeaway

Do you know what is one of the best pleasures or enjoyment in life? Well, it is coming home after a tiring day at work with a great film to watch and a good bottle of wine to drink.

Think of the movies you want to watch and if a particular bottle of wine can suit that. In this post, we recommended the perfect wine or varietal to match a few movie genres together. Take the time to read about these partnerships.
