You know what is amazing about Barbies? That Mattel is actually trying to make young children better with the releases of their Inspiring Women line. They recently announced that they would be releasing Rosa Parks and Sally Ride into the set which already includes strong women such as Frida Kahlo, Amelia Earhart and Gabby Douglas.

Rosa Parks was famously the mother of the Modern Civil Rights Movement. She is most memorable for her role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Sally Ride is the first American woman in space and the youngest american astronaut.

“Both Sally Ride and Rosa Parks made the world better for future generations of girls. By celebrating their achievements with dolls made in their likeness, we hope girls will be inspired to pursue their dreams.”

    Mattel Spokesperson to CNN

If you would like to check out the entire line of Inspiring Women Barbies you can do so by clicking here.

Both Rosa Parks and Sally Ride are available for purchase now.
