Are you ready to travel to Mordor to destroy the ring of power and save Middle Earth from the darkness?

Well…if that sounds too hard, you can do the the next best thing and go to New York to see a massive J.J.R. Tolkien collection!

The Morgan Library & Museum in New York will be hosting ‘Tolkien: Maker Of Middle Earth’ starting January 25th through May 12th, 2019.

So, grab your Hobbit companions and witness all things Tolkien.

Here is the exhibit statement and description from the museums website:

“Tolkien’s Middle-earth is a world complete with its own languages and histories. Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth celebrates the man and his creation. The exhibition will be the most extensive public display of original Tolkien material for several generations. Drawn from the collections of the Tolkien Archive at the Bodleian Library (Oxford), Marquette University Libraries (Milwaukee), the Morgan, and private lenders, the exhibition will include family photographs and memorabilia, Tolkien’s original illustrations, maps, draft manuscripts, and designs related to The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.”

Aside from the visual attractions, they have special panels and lectures throughout the exhibits run. The schedule is posted below…

If you’re already a New York resident and plan on going, we wish you the very best! If you are not local to New York (like me), you’ll need to make plans for the treacherous journey ahead. I’ll start packing my belonging and begin to adventure by foot to the land of New York. I’m starting from the Pasadena, California…so I might see you sometime in May!
