There is lots of big news in the Overwatch world and I am here to keep you updated with everything!

First off, our furry friend, Wrecking Ball AKA Hammond, has his release date to Xbox, PS4 and PC. Big question is, are you ready for him? He will be out to play this coming Tuesday, July 24th. If you haven’t check out any of his game play, now is the time. It is time to prepare for this new tank coming our way.

    Some of his abilities include:

    • Quad Cannons, which is am automatic assault weapon.
    • Roll, This allows him to transform into a ball and increase maximum movement speed.
    • Grappling Claw, allows him to rapidly swing around the area. Enables high speed collisions to damage and knock-back enemies.
    • Minefield, deploys a massive field of proximity mines.
    • Adaptive Shield, create temporary personal shields. Amount increases with more enemies nearby.
    • Piledriver, allows him to slam into the ground below to damage and launch enemies upward.

Next, there is some new Nerfs and Buffs coming to the support characters, which everyone has been talking about. The biggest news in regards to this, is with the character Mercy who, once again, is getting a Nerf. Mercy’s primary fire healing beam will reduce from 60 HP per second to 50 HP per second. This is in hopes to balance her more vs the other support characters. It is to “close the gap” between her and another choice in healers. Brigette will also be getting a small Nerf as well. Her Shield Bash cooldown period will increase from six to seven seconds.

Though, in positive news; Lucio, Moira, and Ana are getting a buff. Ana’s Nano Boost will now additionally heal targets for 300 HP. Lucio’s Sound Barrier effect will increase from 500 to 750 shields. His Crossfade aura radius will increase from 10m to 12m.  Moira’s healing resource base regenerative rate will increase by 20%.

These changes are to release to PTR “very soon”.

Lastly, in other big news, Overwatch League is now airing on ESPN, ABC and Disney. Wednesday, June 18th was the first day the OWLs aired on Disney XD and ESPN3 with Philadelphia Fusion taking on the Boston Uprising in the first match of the Overwatch League quarterfinals. The multiple year broadcast deal includes the OWLS playoffs, which begin Wednesday night, the Season 1 grand finals from the Barclays Center in New York this month and OWL Season 2 next year. The schedule is listed on the ESPN site.
