So… what is going on here??

Source: 20th Century Fox.

You may have overlooked a very subtle marketing campaign by the folks over at 20th Century Fox this week for their upcoming continuation of the “X-Men Universe” New Mutants.  Last week, on October 12th 2017, comingsoon.net reported a mysterious banner appearing online which later resulted in the debut of the first trailer for the film.

Check it out below!!

Alright… one thing I feel we learned from this is Fox has some guts.  I’m actually confused as to whether I sound be upset that the X-Men format I have grown to love (except X3, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and X-Men: Apocalypse appropriately) is gone, or if Fox is rewriting the superhero genre right before our eyes.  This whole “horror movie” element is definitely worth noting, like the film will be more of a psychological thriller than weekend popcorn flick.  I don’t believe we’ve seen anything like it in previous years which is a big gamble for the studio.  Only time will tell if they’ve broken new ground or buried a franchise.
