As we get closer to the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it’s the next chapter, Episode IX that is making all the headlines.
On September 5th, The Hollywood Reporter published an article about Colin Trevorrow’s departure from the director’s chair of the 2019 franchise installment. Several publications have turned to their sources citing everything from difficulties in development to control of the project. There’s a sea of rumors to float through and we may never know what really happened. Unfortunately the movie business is exactly that, a business, people come and go, people get fired.
But than was then, and this is now. The search for a new auteur ended just quickly as on September 12th, Variety.com reported the mastermind behind the reboot of the Star Wars Universe, J.J. Abrams will make a triumphant return to a galaxy far, far, away.
You are reading that correctly. The man is coming back!!
The news should excite fans as Abrams has proven through the years he is a legitimate filmmaker and a visionary of our times.
Now if we can only get a new The Last Jedi trailer…
Is J.J.’s return good or bad for Star Wars? Let Nerdbot know in the comments!
