‘Captain Marvel’ in Top 3 For The MCU After Only One Day of Ticket Sales

Get ready for another record breaking year for the Marvel Machine! I should probably get used to saying that because Disney shows zero signs of slowing down anytime soon.

On March 8th, we’ll turn our attention to the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Brie Larson will bring the space heroine Captain Marvel to the big screen. But you know this, I’m sure you’re just as excited about the film’s release as we are here at Nerdbot. And guess what… a whole bunch of people are fired up too.

On January 9th, Deadline.com reported that early bird tickets for Captain Marvel are selling like an NES classic in 2016. The movie hasn’t even come out yet and its already the third highest grossing MCU installment when it comes to pre-sales. Only Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther place higher on the list. Big surprise. Those two projects combined brought in more cash than most developed nations do in three years.

Fandango’s Erik Davis had the following comments:

“We’re seeing fantastic advance ticket sales for ‘Captain Marvel’ because it’s a historic film for Marvel Studios, one that fans have been waiting to see for a decade. As the studio’s first female-driven superhero film, ‘Captain Marvel’ is a benchmark moment for the genre, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and for star Brie Larson, who will play the most powerful Marvel superhero to date.”

Believe me everyone, truer words have never been spoken. After Wonder Woman, you can bet your house Marvel fans have been waiting for the MCU to answer the call of a female led superhero film.

And I’m sure by April, Captain Marvel will be the highest grossing MCU movie until the next MCU movie comes out.

Captain Marvel tickets are on sale now!
