Hi, I’m Amy. I like long walks in the graveyard, horror movies, comic books, and bringing you the latest in nerd-centric news.

Before Pedro Pascal (“The Mandalorian”) was cast as Joel on HBO’s “The Last of Us,” there were a few other contenders for the role.  Craig Mazin, co-showrunner, recently confirmed one big casting choice that could have been. Though the details aren’t quite as juicy as fans may have originally thought.  Turns out, Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey (“True Detective”) was in the running at some point. “I did talk to Matthew. I can’t say that it was a series [of conversations]. It was more of a, ‘Hey, here’s something to talk about,'” Mazin told the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. “Pedro was on…

Sometimes your friendly neighborhood pizza shop is more than meets the eye. At least that is the case for one shop in North Hollywood that got busted for allegedly illegally cooking up THC concentrates. “We’ve heard of secret ingredients, but this takes the pie,” the LAPD said. “It seems like criminals are getting more creative by the day. From faux vending machines to pizza-making trickery, we are well aware of these sneaky things, keeping our city safe one clever bust at a time. This super ‘pizza’ lab won’t be making any more deliveries!” On June 20th, 15 pounds of heroin,…

German Sportswear brand Adidas will be collaborating with the numetal band Korn for a new line of shoes and apparel. This is a joint venture most of us have been expecting for decades. Or at least ever since Korn released the song “A.D.I.D.A.S.” in 1997.  While Adidas has provided the band with free products, they didn’t want an official collaboration. Probably because the Korn song played off an old joke that the company’s name is an acronym for “all day I dream about sex.” Competitor Puma stepped in and was willing to make it official in 1998. “We switched to…

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan says fellow zombie fighter/survivor Melissa McBride will be appearing in “The Walking Dead” Carol/Daryl spin-off, now titled “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.” This comes as a shock to fans, since about a year ago, AMC said McBride could not do the show for logistical reasons.  “Melissa McBride has given life to one of the most interesting, real, human and popular characters in The Walking Dead Universe,” AMC said in a statement. “Unfortunately, she is no longer able to participate in the previously announced spin-off focused on the Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier characters, which will be…

Officers arrested a woman at Disneyland after she allegedly snuck into the park on June 17th. The incident was shared earlier this week on TikTok and the video has recently gone viral. The video’s description claims that this is the second day in a row she has done this. The TikTok video shows Anaheim Police Department officers assisting Disneyland’s security team in arresting a woman. The footage is scored by the almost too-fitting KRS-One song “Sound of da Police.” It’s captioned “According to CM’s this is day two of this lady breaking in.” (CM means ‘Cast Member,’ which is what…

Two-time Tony-nominee Alex Brightman (“Beetlejuice”) and Colin Donnell (“Chicago Med”) are joining the cast of Broadway-bound “The Shark Is Broken,” a comedy based on the making of Stephen Spielberg’s 1975 blockbuster smash “Jaws,” based on a best-selling novel of the same name by Peter Benchley.  However, we have a feeling everyone will feel safe going into the water after this play. In “The Shark Is Broken,” Brightman will portray Richard Dreyfuss, with Donnell cast as Roy Scheider. They will be joining the previously announced Ian Shaw, who will play his own father, Robert Shaw. In the original film, Shaw played…

In a very surprising move, it seems Warner Bros. Discovery may be shopping some of the HBO library to streaming rival Netflix. The talks are mostly around the Issa Rae comedy “Insecure,” which ran for 5 seasons ending in December of 2021. But other titles are possibly being discussed as well.  Though reports do stress the potential deal is still VERY much in its infancy, and may fall apart. If this deal does happen, it could mean huge things for how streaming content is handled across platforms. It’s understood the shows being distributed would be on a non-exclusive basis. Meaning…
