    The Internet Is Too Obsessed With Tarantino’s Horror Movie

    For fans of Quentin Tarantino, the only thing we like more than watching one of his films is hypothesizing in our smoking circles and in our trendy microbreweries about what he is going to do next. It’s only been a few weeks since Once Upon A Time In Hollywood came out and from the amount of coverage Tarantino’s possible tenth film has gotten lately, you’d think the thing has already been written and greenlit.

    Realistically, we’re not going to have any insight into that crazily genius mind of Tarantino’s until he sends a raven from his castle and personally I’m having a fun time watching the Internet’s desperate attempts to make something out of nothing.

    What the hell am I talking about? QT did an interview with TheIndependent.com where he made a simple comment about how he’s a fan of horror movies, and maybe, maybe, it would be cool to do one someday. I’m paraphrasing of course so let’s check out the actual quote;

    “If I come up with a terrific horror film story, I will do that as my tenth movie. I love horror movies. I would love to do a horror film.”

    Well we all know horror is pretty hot right now and it’s interesting to note how these online publications twist and turn words for the sake of clicks.

    Here’s The Independent’s headline;

    They’re not lying. The words are plucked directly from the quote, crafted perfectly enough to get you attention without drifting too far into yellow journalism.

    Now let’s see how Unilad.com reported on the same story;

    Where the hell in the above quote do you see anything about Tarantino “wanting” a horror movie to be his tenth film?

    Here’s Vice.com;

    Getting warmer.

    And Yahoo.com…

    Again, where the hell does it say anything about Tarantino “wanting” a horror movie to be his final film?

    Unfortunately everyone has their own style, some are a little more direct while some really work to get you to briefly navigate away from Facebook. However, all these publications completely overlooked one major factor… Tarantino has already made a horror movie, and it’s called Death Proof.

    Allow me to quickly summarize Death Proof. A crazy, out for blood, antagonist (who happens to be a Top 3 Tarantino character) stalks young women then eventually tries to kill them. While the other half of Grindhouse wasn’t necessarily marketed as such, that sentence easily sounds like ten horror flicks that have or will be released this year.

    Personally I was under the impression Once Upon A Time was going to be Tarantino’s considered by the mainstream media horror movie. You have to admit, you thought it was going to be more Manson heavy too. Not that it matters, I still enjoyed the film. Leo was the bomb.

    While I think a Tarantino horror movie would be amazing, I’m more interested in this Star Trek project. And don’t worry, he described a sort of loophole to the Independent that would allow for him to direct another feature after traveling to the final frontier of space;

    “I guess I do have a loophole, [if] the idea was to throw a loophole into it. Which would be… ‘Star Trek doesn’t count. I can do Star Trek … but naturally I would end on an original.’But the idea of doing 10 isn’t to come up with a loophole. I actually think, if I was going to do Star Trek, I should commit to it. It’s my last movie.There should be nothing left handed about it. I don’t know if I’m going to do that, but that might happen.”

    I’ll take anything except Kill Bill 3.
