Zil Money Highlights Payment Flexibility for Businesses Evaluating AvidXchange Alternatives

Businesses comparing AP platforms can weigh Zil Money’s payment-focused workflows against AvidXchange’s broader invoice-to-pay automation.

TYLER, Texas, September 9, 2026.  Accounts payable software can solve different problems depending on the business.

Some finance teams need deep invoice capture, approval routing, purchasing controls, and ERP integration. Others are more focused on getting approved payments to vendors through the method each recipient accepts.

Zil Money is highlighting that distinction for businesses evaluating an AvidXchange alternative.

AvidXchange currently positions its platform around end-to-end AP automation, including invoice capture, approvals, payments, purchasing, and more than 200 accounting-system integrations. The company says implementation varies by customer and that many customers can be operational in as little as six weeks.

Zil Money takes a more payment-focused approach. Its current platform supports business payments through ACH, wires, checks, eChecks, virtual cards, and eligible credit-card-funded workflows. Businesses can also print checks in-house or use supported mailing options.

That difference can matter to a small or mid-size company dealing with vendors that do not all accept the same payment method.

A supplier may want ACH. A contractor may ask for a check. Another payment may require a wire. An eligible business may also want to fund a vendor payment by credit card even though the recipient does not take cards directly.

The right choice depends on the finance workflow.

A company that needs extensive invoice-to-pay automation may place more weight on AvidXchange’s AP controls and accounting integrations. A company that places more weight on payment-method flexibility, check workflows, and card-funded business payments may evaluate Zil Money differently.

The purpose of the comparison is not to claim that one system fits every business. It is to help finance teams compare the part of accounts payable that creates the most work for them today.
