AndaSeat Kaiser 3E XL: Comfort, Support, and Serious Value

    Note: Product Supplied by Manufacturer

Back in the days of the COVID-19 quarantine, I knew I was going to be working from home quite a bit. I didn’t have much of an office setup but knew that a chair was going to be necessary. I bought one from Big Lots. It was a fairly standard office chair, nothing special. I knew there were better chairs, gaming ones especially. I figured it wouldn’t matter that much. So, I bought my office chair, put it together, and used it for the next six years. Had I known then what I know now, I never would’ve purchased it and happily given my money to AndaSeat instead.

I’m currently writing this review from the seat of my new AndaSeat Kaiser 3E Series Ergonomic Office Gaming Chair. To make that name a bit easier, let’s just call it my best friend. This is the first true gaming chair I’ve owned. I’ve had other ergonomic chairs at my workplace but I would trade even the best of those in for my best friend, Kaiser.

This is the XL model. It’s well suited for me being 6’3” and around 300 pounds. As you can see in the picture I took above, it’s black with red seams running around it. It’s not ostentatious and blends in just fine with the rest of my apartment. Some gaming chairs can be elaborate and garish, but the Kaiser here has no such issue. You can also see the lever along the right hand side of the seat that’s used for adjusting the back of the chair. I’ll get back around to that in a little bit.

    Assembly

Before we talk about the features, I do want to discuss the set-up and assembly. The AndaSeat Kaiser 3E Series XL has some heft to it. You’ll notice that as soon as you pick up the box and start taking out the components. This was a welcome sign. Especially when you’re a bigger guy, you need to know that the chair is going to support you and be able to handle some wear and tear. There were no doubts about that from square one.

The actual assembly was quite easy. There’s an included allen wrench and bolts with no other tools needed. My model already had the armrests connected to the chair, but I had to move them anyway. There are two places you can connect them to. One of them further back, the other further forward. Personally, I prefer them further forward and had to move them into that position. It was easy. The only quibble is that because of the location of some of the bolts, you can’t get complete 360 degree rotation on the allen wrench. This means you’ll have to do a bit of a twist, take the wrench out, reset it’s position, turn again. It’s annoying but not a huge deal. The chair was put together to my liking in less than an hour.

    Features and Comfort

As for the AndaSeat Kaiser chair itself, it’s comfortable as all hell. The armrests have a great degree of movement, horizontally, vertically, and can angle to the left and right to better suit your positioning. The backrest is strong and comfortable while also having a wonderful degree of forward and backward range. The lever on the right hand side can be pulled back to tilt the back to your chosen position and locked in place. Underneath the seat on the left is a lever that can be used to allow your seat to tilt back. On the right, you can control the height. That’s the one little thing that could be better here. For an XL seat, it feels like the chair could have a greater degree of height options.

Everything else about the chair is fantastic. I specifically love how it supports my back. As I mentioned earlier, I’m a big guy and I’ve recently been exercising a lot more. I can feel the strain on my lower back as I work on strengthening my core. It’s not easy work. Being able to sit in the AndaSeat Kaiser though is such a welcome relief. That combination of bein able to lean back but still have that ergonomic strength up against my spine feels marvelous.

Anyone familiar with my writing over the years knows that I have no problem being critical of the things I enjoy. Pointing out the good and the bad in a piece of media or a product only serves to highlight what’s being done well and what could be done better. Aside from what I mentioned about wishing the chair could be raised higher, I can’t think of anything else this could do better.

    So Very Worth It

My thanks again to AndaSeat for providing me the product to review. I just wish I had known about these chairs years ago. It would’ve made a world of difference in my comfort levels. The old adage goes that, “you get what you pay for,” and the Kaiser 3E Series Ergonomic Office Gaming Chair is worth every dollar.

Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars out of 5
