Russell Brand Pleads Not Guilty to New Charges — What’s Going On?

Russell Brand. You either love him or you hate him. He’s never been shy to let us know exactly what he thinks and is oftentimes seen as problematic due to it. Now given his current legal troubles, he’s being scrutinized even more. No longer is he the funny, silly comedian we once knew him as in films like “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” but a star at the height of controversy.

Russell Brand has pleaded not guilty to additional rape and sexual assault charges brought to light in his current legal case. He’s currently going to court in London over several similar allegations. These new charges are from alleged incidents dating all the way back to 2009. *These allegations are from before his marriage to Katy Perry who he was married to from 2010 – 2012.

Unfortunately this isn’t the first time Brand has dealt with accusations like these. Previous cases involved multiple women and alleged incidents from the late ’90s through the mid-2000s. Brand has consistently denied any wrongdoing. He also insists that he will fight all of these accusations in court. Whatever the case may be, it’s not a good look for him to have so many allegations against him. And it shows that he’s created a pattern around behaviors with women.

The trial is expected to move forward later this year.
