    Cate Blanchett Joins Live-Action “How to Train Your Dragon” Sequel

    We are delighted to share the news that two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett is joining the upcoming live-action “How to Train Your Dragon” sequel. She’ll be reprising the role she voiced in the animated sequel, Valka! The character is actually Hiccup’s mom, and has her own incredible dragon friend, Cloudjumper.

    Blanchett joins Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James, and Harry Trevaldwyn in the film. Also Gerard Butler, who voiced Hiccup’s dad Stoick the Vast in the animated films!

    Dean DeBlois returns to write and direct as well.

    “How To Train Your Dragon 2,” the live-action sequel, is set to hit June 11th, 2027. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.
