How Pokémon Go++ Helped Me Rediscover the Game on iOS

I’ve been playing Pokémon Go since 2016. Like a lot of people, I’ve had periods of obsession—raiding in the rain, walking miles just to hatch a 10km egg—and also long breaks when the grind felt too much. But recently, I found a new way to enjoy the game without burning out: Pokémon Go++.

It’s basically a modified version of the official app, with some added tools that make it easier (and a bit more fun) to play, especially on iOS. I had always heard Android players talk about spoofing, but this is the first time I’ve tried something similar—without needing to root or jailbreak anything.

    Why I Tried It

The honest reason? I just didn’t have time anymore. Real life gets busy, and I didn’t want to give up the game entirely. I started reading about alternatives and found that some iOS users were using a tweaked version that lets them control movement with a joystick, catch Pokémon faster, and even teleport to different cities.

At first, I was skeptical. I didn’t want to risk my main account, and I wasn’t sure if it would work on my iPhone. But curiosity won.

    What It Actually Changes

The joystick feature is a game-changer. I can “walk” to a nearby park or check what’s spawning across the city without leaving my desk. There’s also an IV checker built in, so I don’t have to flip between apps. Some people use the auto-catch features or teleport to find regionals—I mostly stick to local spoofing and use it as a casual quality-of-life upgrade.

It doesn’t feel like cheating, at least not in the same way bots or multi-accounts do. It’s more like… modifying the UI to fit a busy lifestyle. I still need to be strategic, and I’m not auto-farming. I’m just not walking 20,000 steps a day.

    iOS Users Have It Tougher

Let’s be honest: Android users have always had more freedom with modding tools. iOS has stricter app policies, no default file access, and security checks that block a lot of third-party tools. Even using apps like iPogo used to require a computer and developer mode.

That’s why when I heard some users were installing Pokémon Go++ without jailbreaking, I paid attention. It seemed too easy—but it actually worked.

    How I Installed It

I used a separate Apple ID and an old backup phone at first. A friend sent me this platform, a third-party store called TopStore, which hosts various modded apps. The process was quick, and I didn’t have to mess with any profiles or certificates manually.

If you’re curious, here’s the page I used for Pokémon Go++ Page. Installation was just a tap and a few permissions.

    Final Thoughts

I still play on my regular account when I’m out and about. But when I’m home or stuck at work, I use Pokémon Go++ on my secondary device to explore new places, catch different Pokémon, and keep the experience fresh.

It’s not for everyone. But if you’ve taken long breaks from the game, or find the real-world grind too demanding, this version might help bring some of the fun back—without breaking the rules or your daily routine.

Give it a look if you’re curious. It helped me fall in love with Pokémon Go again.
