Put the Guns Down: A World Epidemic, the powerful new documentary confronting the root causes of gun violence, is making waves nationwide following its official release on major streaming platforms, including Peacock, Apple TV, Google TV, and Amazon Prime Video.

Directed by Terry C. Carney Sr. and co-directed by Eric Herbert, the documentary is not just a film—it’s a movement. With its unflinching look at the mental health crisis fueling gun violence, the documentary has resonated deeply with communities across the country. Told through raw testimonials from families of victims, community leaders, and reformed individuals with lived experience in street violence, Put the Guns Down offers an urgent message: gun violence is not just a crime issue—it’s a public health crisis, rooted in trauma, systemic neglect, and mental health struggles.

Since its release, the documentary has steadily gained traction, with audiences praising its authenticity, heart, and call to action. Viewers have taken to social media to share how the film moved them, opened their eyes, and reignited conversations in homes, schools, and civic spaces. The movement has already held its first college screening and is now gaining interest from civic leaders, with upcoming screenings and panels scheduled to take place within city offices—and a scheduled event during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Adding momentum to the movement are hip-hop legends who have publicly backed the project. Legendary hip-hop artist and actor Ice-T, a longtime advocate for community empowerment, has dropped his support across social media, aligning with the documentary’s urgent message. He’s been joined by other major voices in the music world, including Chilly Chill, Kokane, Spice 1, and X-Raided—each lending their platform to amplify awareness and urge followers to watch and share the film.

These endorsements not only lend credibility but also connect the message with generations who have lived through and spoken out against the impact of violence in underserved communities. Their support reflects the shared responsibility across industries to confront the issue and create space for real dialogue and solutions.

Put the Guns Down: A World Epidemic is the cornerstone of a broader awareness campaign aimed at sparking grassroots action, supporting mental health initiatives, and providing platforms for those affected by gun violence to be heard. Plans are already underway to take the movement into schools, juvenile detention centers, and city halls through a national tour combining film screenings, panel discussions, and personal testimonies from those directly impacted.

At its core, Put the Guns Down is about restoring humanity to a conversation that’s too often politicized and dehumanized. It’s about centering healing, accountability, and change.

The documentary is now available to stream on Peacock, Apple TV, Google TV, and Amazon Prime Video. For those looking to better understand the emotional toll and systemic roots of gun violence—and to be part of the change—this is where the conversation begins.

Watch. Reflect. Speak out. And above all—Put the Guns Down.
