World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2 is here, and every player wants to reach high item levels as quickly as possible. Whether you’re aiming for Mythic+ dungeons, raids, or PvP dominance, gearing up efficiently is key. With Patch 11.1, Blizzard introduced new ways to obtain gear, making the progression path slightly different from previous expansions.

In this guide, we’ll cover the fastest ways to upgrade your gear, push your item level to 678, and get ready for high-end PvE and PvP content. And if you’re looking for the easiest way to power up your character, check out Gamer Choice.

How to Catch Up with Gearing in The War Within Season 2

If you’re starting the season behind, catching up quickly is crucial. Many group activities require a minimum item level of 620-630 to get invited. If you’re below that range, here’s what you can do:

    • Mythic 0 & Low Mythic+ Keys – Even if you’re undergeared, you can complete +2 to +6 keys with a solid team. If you don’t have friends to carry you, consider a Mythic+ boost from Gamer Choice to skip the grind.
    • Battlegrounds & PvP Gear – Farming Honor and purchasing Honor gear is a fast way to get started, especially if you played in Season 1.
    • Renown Rewards – Renown quartermasters offer essential gear, including over 100 Graved Crests, which help with upgrades.

    Key Locations for Renown Quartermasters

    Renown FactionLocation Coordinates
Council of Dornogal & The Assembly of the Deeps/way Dornogal 39.18 24.04
    Hallowfall Arathi/way Hallowfall 42.37 55.01
    The Severed Threads/way Azj-Kahet 55.26 41.21

Fast PvE Gearing in The War Within

If you’re focusing on PvE, these steps will help you gear up efficiently:

    1. Complete Weekly Activities

Before heading to Undermine, complete at least two weekly activities in Khaz Algar to receive two Veteran gear pieces (upgradable to 645 item level).

    2. Upgrade with Season Start Quest

Visit the Gear Upgrade NPCs in Dornogal for free Valorstones and Crests, essential for gear enhancement.

    3. Get Cyrce’s Circlet (658 Item Level)

Travel to Siren’s Isle, complete the quests, and buy catch-up gear from the Isle’s quartermaster to replace your weakest slots.

    4. Farm Undermine Content

Reaching Renown 7 with the Cartels of Undermine allows you to buy Veteran-level boots (645 item level). Continue farming Valorstones and Crests to max out these upgrades.

By following these steps, you should be close to item level 620, ready to tackle Mythic 0, Delves, and Mythic+ dungeons.

Best PvE Activities for Fast Gearing

Once you’ve caught up, here’s how to push beyond item level 630+:

    Mythic 0 (636 Item Level)

    • Weekly lockout – great for gathering Carved Crests.
    • Introduces you to dungeon mechanics.

    Delves (639-642 Item Level)

    • Complete Bountiful Delves (Level 8) for 642 gear.
    • Use Restored Coffer Keys from World Quests to increase rewards.

    Mythic+ Dungeons

    • Best keys to farm:
      • +6 Keys – drops 649 gear and provides Runed Crests.
      • +8 Keys – base 652 item level, with Gilded Crests, making it a sweet spot for upgrades.
      • +10 Keys – 655 item level but not significantly better than +8 for effort required.
    • Great Vault Rewards – Completing at least one +10 key per week guarantees a 662 item level reward.

How to Use Crafting & the Catalyst for Gearing

    • Matrix Catalyst – Save your charge until the weekly reset to avoid wasting it on loot you might get from the Great Vault.
    • Best Gear to Craft – Wait until Week 2, then craft your best embellished gear using Runed or Gilded Crests.
    • Combat Bad Luck – If a specific slot won’t drop, crafting a quality 5 item (675 item level) is the best solution.

Fast PvP Gearing in The War Within

If you’re more into PvP, gearing up is easier but requires some planning:

    1. Farm Honor – A full Honor gear set (665 item level) costs 11,000 Honor.
    2. Complete Weekly PvP Quests – Earn Bloody Tokens and Conquest to buy stronger gear.
    3. Don’t Buy Weapons First – Complete the 2500 Honor achievement for a free weapon.
    4. Use the Catalyst – Convert pieces into tier gear for optimal PvP performance.

    Final Thoughts

Gearing up in The War Within Season 2 is all about efficiency. Whether you choose PvE, PvP, or crafting, the right strategy will get you to item level 678 quickly. And if you want to skip the long grind, Wow boost at gamer choice is the fastest and most reliable way to dominate in Season 2.
