    Differences between science fiction and fantasy in the plots of online games

    Designers of modern online games use different themes for their plots. However, the most popular are fantasy and science fiction. Nevertheless, many users who are not familiar with the peculiarities of each of these genres often confuse them. A similar situation is observed in the area of casino games. For the convenience of players, the best gambling projects allocate separate categories for each genre. For example, in the popular Turkish casino, slots with science fiction and fantasy plots are clearly divided. The information in this article will allow anyone to independently distinguish between these genres and easily find games that match personal preferences.

    Key differences between the genres

    Let’s start with the main differences between science fiction and fantasy. The first of these genres describes events that are either already part of reality or will become part of it in the future. In different epochs, science fiction differs in its plots. For example, the events described by Jules Verne in “From the Earth to the Moon” (1865) and “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” (1870) are simply reality for everyone today. Even if some of the modern fantasy games or slot plots widely available at https://you-winn1.com/ seem unlikely today, they have some scientific basis.

    Plots in the fantasy genre differ from science fiction precisely because they are not explained by science. They are based on magic and mysticism, which can be clearly seen in such popular games of the genre as:

    • DOTA 2 — one of the highest-paid esports games;
    • PUBG: Battlegrounds, which has earned one of the largest collections of awards;
    • Heroes and all versions of this turn-based strategy game;
    • League of Legends, also known as LoL.

    It is interesting to note that fantasy is a much older genre. Here the plots are based on legends and myths that are several thousand years old. At the same time, fantasy was used in online games much earlier than science fiction. As an example we can mention the popular game StarCraft, presented in 1998.

    Such a feature is explained by the specificity of each genre. If fantasy loses its relevance over time and becomes reality, then the plots and characters of fantasy are eternal. That is why in the modern online gaming industry the fantasy genre has displaced fantasy plots from the TOP of popularity. A similar situation can be seen in gambling, which often borrows plots from the world of online gaming.
