Ashley Hargrove’s journey in the entertainment industry began at a remarkably young age. Captivated by the magic of movies, she took her first steps into the world of theater at just eight years old, quickly discovering her passion for acting. It was a serendipitous Craigslist ad seeking background actors for the hit show “Nashville” that opened the door to her film career. Seizing this opportunity, Ashley immersed herself in the craft, honing her skills through various classes, background roles, and reenactments. With determination and a knack for networking, she soon found herself represented by a talented agent, allowing her to explore the intricacies of acting, writing, and the behind-the-scenes aspects of filmmaking.

Throughout her acting career, Ashley has embraced a wide array of roles that showcase her versatility, portraying characters ranging from troubled drug addicts to vibrant college students. Her work on projects like “Homicide Hunter” and “The 700 Club” has highlighted her adaptability and even her stunt capabilities. Some of her most cherished moments come from being on set, where she experiences the thrill of spectacular special effects and the excitement of unexpected encounters—like the time she was mistaken for an escaped prisoner during a shoot. Her commitment to her craft led her to train rigorously, even taking on the challenge of immersing herself in the role of a nun for two months under the guidance of a former nun.

Ashley’s passion for voice acting ignited during her teenage years when she began experimenting with various voices, including ventriloquism. A pivotal moment came when she landed a British voice gig for a Canadian radio station, solidifying her love for voice work. Inspired by renowned voice actors like Billy West and Dee Bradley Baker, Ashley discovered the joy of bringing characters to life through her voice. Her speech impediment, once viewed as a challenge, became an asset, providing her with opportunities to work from home and utilize her unique talents.

Like many actors, Ashley has faced her share of memorable experiences as well as challenges throughout her career. The excitement of premieres, wrap parties, and seeing herself on screen are among her favorite highlights. However, she has also learned to navigate the harsh realities of audition rejections and the competitive nature of the industry. From enduring long hours on set to donning handcuffs for a role and even portraying a stunt robot, Ashley has surmounted numerous obstacles, always fueled by her passion for performance.

Balancing her writing endeavors with her acting career is a priority for Ashley. She emphasizes the importance of carving out time for creative work, as no one else will do it for you. With the unwavering support of her husband and a strong team behind her, she successfully juggles her various pursuits. Ashley’s writing skills have come to the forefront in projects like “Unnerving”, where she had the opportunity to bring her own stories to life.

A transformative experience in Ashley’s career was her work on the TV series “Nashville”. This opportunity provided her with invaluable insights into the workings of film sets and allowed her to refine her ability to take direction. Collaborating with talented actors like Charles Esten and director Mario Van Peebles left a lasting impression on her.

When reflecting on her favorite projects, Ashley highlights her reenactment work for “Homicide Hunter” and “The 700 Club”. These experiences allowed her to witness stunts and special effects up close while working within a close-knit, supportive team. She also cherishes her time filming *Novitiate*, where she formed strong bonds with her fellow actors over the two-month shoot.

Looking ahead, Ashley is eager to dive into her upcoming projects, including “Skate to Hell “and “Marriage Bites”. In the horror comedy “Skate to Hell”, she plays a nun, while “Marriage Bites” explores the comedic intricacies of vampire life. Both projects promise excitement and new opportunities for Ashley to further develop her skills, including taking on assistant directing roles.

To stay current in the ever-evolving acting industry, Ashley actively networks, learns, and practices her craft. She attends conventions, participates in various groups, creates video blogs, and produces skits to expand her repertoire. Her commitment to continuous improvement extends beyond acting; Ashley is also developing her skills in trampoline gymnastics, piano, and voice work. Additionally, her pursuit of a master’s degree in Cybersecurity has sharpened her focus and work ethic, influencing her approach to her artistic endeavors.

Ashley’s favorite genres to work in are comedy and horror, whether separately or combined. However, she remains open to exploring projects in sci-fi, action, historical dramas, and even Hallmark Christmas movies. Her diverse background in acting, writing, and cybersecurity opens up exciting possibilities for future projects.

For aspiring actors and those interested in pursuing a career in voice and film, Ashley offers invaluable advice: never give up, embrace failures as learning experiences, and never stop practicing your craft. She emphasizes the importance of networking, continuous learning, and the passion that must underpin all artistic work. Ashley encourages aspiring artists to understand and bring someone else’s vision to life while remaining true to themselves.

Actor Joe Komara and Ashley Hargrove “Marriage Bites”

Ashley is currently involved in several upcoming productions, including “Robey the Robot”, “CarTELLERS”, “Have You Seen My Robot”, “Skate to Hell”, “Killer Pizza”, and “Caroline of Mine 2: Secret”. Additionally, she is filming “Marriage Bites”, where she takes on the lead role of Linda. Directed by the talented Alex M. Gibson, known for his work on “Silence: A Love Story” and “Summoning Frank”, “Marriage Bites” promises to be another significant entry in Gibson’s impressive filmography. His expertise in weaving emotional narratives with compelling characters is sure to shine through in this project.

The film features an ensemble cast that enhances its appeal. Ashley Hargrove plays Linda while also contributing as a writer. Her previous performances in “Nashville”, “Fairwood”, and “Unnerving” have showcased her versatility and depth as an actress. Joining her is Joe Komara as Martin, who brings experience from films like “Falling for the Competition” and “A Perfect Christmas Pairing” to this pivotal role.

Darren Ewing, known for his roles in “Troll 2”, “Unaccompanied Minors”, and “Brothers Three: An American Gothic”, portrays Milton, adding a unique flair to the ensemble. Ava Connolly, recognized for her performances in “Zero”, “Ragged Heart”, and “Voices”, takes on the role of Morgan, enriching the cast further. Notable actors such as James Duval, celebrated for his roles in “Hawaii Five-O”, “Gone in 60 Seconds”, and “Independence Day”, alongside Robert LaSardo, known for his portrayal of Escobar Gallardo on “Nip/Tuck”, also contribute to the film’s star-studded lineup.

The concept behind “Marriage Bites” emerged from the filmmaker’s desire to delve deeper into the horror-comedy genre. Following the completion of a previous project in the same vein, the filmmaker was inspired to craft a narrative that explores the intricacies of a couple’s relationship set against a backdrop of supernatural chaos. The character of Martin was inspired by a friend’s humorous take on vampires, leading the filmmaker to recognize Joe Komara’s talent as the ideal fit for the role.

At its core, “Marriage Bite” follows Martin, a suburban husband trapped in a monotonous routine who is transformed into a vampire, igniting a series of chaotic events that challenge his marriage. As Martin grapples with his new identity, Linda must navigate the complexities of her husband’s transformation while confronting her own insecurities. Their journey highlight’s themes of rediscovery, resilience, and the essential role of love and support in overcoming life’s unexpected challenges.

What truly sets “Marriage Bites” apart is its innovative incorporation of social media theories. The film humorously critiques modern society’s obsession with social media, examining how the characters blindly follow online trends and theories, often landing them in absurd and dangerous situations. This clever narrative device serves as both entertainment and a cautionary tale, reminding viewers of the importance of discerning truth from fiction in the digital age.

Ashley Hargrove’s path to success is bolstered by the support of two prominent agencies: Talent Trek and GTK PR Agency. Talent Trek manages her talent representation, while GTK PR Agency takes care of her public relations needs.
