Reebok’s Alien Stompers Returning for “Romulus”

For some of us, the coolest someone has ever looked in film is Ellen Ripley taking on the Xenomorph in Ridley Scott‘s “Alien.” And again in James Cameron‘s “Aliens.” Okay and pretty much any film that had Sigourney Weaver being a badass in space. One of the big parts of the look was a pair of Reebok high top sneakers, affectionately known as “stompers.”

A few fears ago, a very, VERY limited set of stompers were released for LV426 (April 26th, widely celebrated as “Alien Day”). But, those were only in men’s sizes, and there were only 426 pairs. Sure, we get it- no one knew how well they’d sell, and why make WOMEN’S SIZES when the character who wore them WAS A WOMAN. True, they’ve come back a few times now in various sizes and releases, and now, we’re gonna get them again.

To coincide with the release of Fede Alvarez‘s “Alien: Romulus,” we are once again getting Reebok stompers.

These are being called a “commercial release of a unique and compelling piece of footwear that will be worn throughout the forthcoming film.”  The stompers will be available beginning August 27th, from Reebok‘s website.

“Alien: Romulus” hits theaters August 16th, 2024.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
