If this is your first time hearing about interactive experience Meow Wolf, you are in for a treat. Meow Wolf instillations are meticulously crafted to resemble dreamscapes; fully immersing you in psychedelic journeys featuring floor-to-ceiling art. Drawing inspiration from several sources, their exhibitions are a testament to the boundless creativity where every rule is defied, and the conventional is challenged. And now one is coming to Los Angeles in 2026!

The L.A. Times report hints at a possible West Los Angeles location- likely the currently vacant The Landmark’s former Pico location. The official press release for this new location touts “maximalist fantasy,” using the “cinematic mythos, mysterious eggs, absurd glitz [and] the fantastical spells cast by Hollywood” as inspiration.

Meow Wolf currently has four permanent exhibits. One in Las Vegas, one in Grapevine, one in Denver and one in Santa Fe New Mexico, their home town. Las Vegas has Omega Mart in Area 15, Grapevine hosts a “Real Unreal” video game, Denver has Convergence Station, and in their hometown of Santa Fe, a neon wonderland of a forest located in a suburban backyard.

That’s not to say the greater Los Angeles area doesn’t already have some pretty amazing immersive offerings. Like themed pop-up bars and galleries, concerts, and lots of other entertainment. Also, things like the 5-day post-apocalyptic Wasteland Weekend, celebrating it’s 14th annual event this September. And their sister event Neotropolis, which celebrates cyberpunk and science fiction in the Mojave Desert.

As soon as we hear about the actual location for this instillation, we’ll let you know.

    UPDATE

The company has now revealed where their Los Angeles installation will reside- in the Cinemark complex at HHLA (Howard Hughes LA) at 6081 Center Drive in West Los Angeles.

“We’re crafting our next surreal dream world in a movie theater in West Los Angeles, a nod to the cinematic soul of the city,” Amanda Clay, Meow Wolf chief development officer, said. “HHLA, nestled close to LAX, and just off the 405, is positioned at the convergence of abundant culture and opportunity. Meow Wolf Los Angeles will draw inspiration from its surroundings and translate them into something otherworldly, never-before-seen, and yet familiar to Angelenos.”

Reports indicate Meow Wolf will move into the space after extensive renovations.

“We’re excited that one of the world’s most innovative and immersive entertainment experiences is coming to HHLA,” Tyler Mateen, founder and CEO of Cannon TTM, said. “Meow Wolf is a cultural institution that will further solidify HHLA as a go-to destination in West Los Angeles.”

    They’re looking at a 2026 opening.
