A Creative CV is Your Gateway to Your Dream Job

Landing your dream job takes work and planning in many cases.

If you are trying to get a job with the academic or medical market, you will want a CV (Curriculum Vitae).

A CV can ensure you go from application to interview quicker, and it is easy to get one when you create CV online free.

Read on to learn all about creating a CV, how to use a CV maker free, and how to find the best program to create one.

    What is a CV?

A CV or Curriculum Vitae is Latin for course of life.

It is a professional document that tells a potential employer your full history with academic work, achievements, and any work experience you have.

Most CVs are two to three pages long, but can be much longer depending on your experience and what job you are applying for.

It is typically required and preferred over a resume when applying for jobs in the medical and academic field.

The reason for this is that a CV is more extensive than a resume, since resumes are typically just summaries of your details with more focus on work experience.

You can also use it to get grants, scholarships, fellowships, and international jobs.

    How to make a CV

When making a CV, your first step should be to create a cover page that includes your name and contact information.

    Your CV should include:

    • Your full academic history in reverse chronological order (what schools you went to and what you studied — post-doctoral, graduate, undergraduate, and even high school)
    • Professional experience
    • Any skills you may have or qualifications for the job you are applying for
    • Awards and honors you have acquired
    • Publications or presentations
    • Any associations you have that are professional
    • Grants or fellowships you have done
    • Licenses and certificates acquired
    • Volunteer work

You can also include personal details or hobbies and interests that you may have which could be relevant to your desired position.

When starting your CV, you should always start with your academic experiences, then move onto professional ones.

Do not be afraid to get a little creative to make your CV stand out, and do not spare any expenses with your details — the more you stand out and detail, the better your CV will look to a potential employer.

Always include dates and places for all of your experience and achievements.

Finding the best free CV maker

When you are ready to create CV online free, do your research to find the best maker.

Ask family, friends, and colleagues who they use or would suggest.

Check if the builder allows you to export your CV to MS Word to print or submit it.

Some CV makers also allow you to submit directly to potential employers.

Determine the layout you need to properly showcase all your experience.

Ensure the maker is easy to use and has a template you would want to use.

To find a true CV maker free, find one that does not ask for a credit card or registration.

Once you have made your CV properly, landing your dream job should be easy.
