5 Best Starting Classes in Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game that has one of the best character creation options seen in recent games. In addition to the physical appearance; the next and the most important thing to pick is the starting class – and Baldur’s Gate 3 has 12 of them. Which are the best among these that you can pick for your journey? We have all the answers in the article below

    Rogue

The Rogue is the critical-hit master and specializes in sneaking around the battlefield to deliver lethal blows to the enemy. This is further accentuated by the Assassin sub-class available to players to further specialize in. Intelligence and Dexterity decide the saving throws for the Rogue class.

    Ranger

The Ranger class helps to the extent that you can plan your damage dealing from a distance and not get too involved right in the middle of all action. The game also builds upon this in the kind of sub-classes available, especially with the Beast Master which further allows the summoning of an animal companion to shield the Ranger from anyone who comes too close.

    Barbarian

The Barbarian is a great beginner class to work with – the perfect tank that has a good amount of health pool, and a strong heavy weapon to take down enemies with slow but precise moves. There are 3 sub-classes for the Barbarian to further specialize as you become more familiar with the game and combat – with one of them also incorporating elements of magic. However, melee-focused Barbarian builds would do best to specialize into the Berserker sub-class. Strength and Constitution decide the saving throws for the Barbarian

    Warlock

Warlock fits into the battlemage role perfectly – where there are a decent set of spells available and also ability to do melee damage. Hence, it kind of fits in the best of both worlds where depending upon the situation, the Warlock can take a lead and get into the midst of the battle, or stay back and put out a couple of big damage dealing spells. Wisdom and Charisma decide the saving throws for the Warlock class

    Fighter

The best class if you want to have the main character play an active part in the battle, and not worry too much about the spells and buffs part. The Fighter class kind of combines the role of being a tank and at the same time dishing out decent damage – allowing other support classes to sneak around or throw spells from a distance. Strength and Constitution decide the saving throws for the Fighter class.

Of course, this is just the tip of what are the possibilities of an end-game build : and one of the most lethal and the most enjoyable ones to play the game with starts from the Ranger class: the Gloomstalker Assassin build.  You can also check out GamesHorizon which has a great collection of tips on combat, gameplay, quests and NPCs in Baldur’s Gate 3
