We are delighted to share the news of the reopening date for Los Angeles’ historic Egyptian Theater. It was purchased by Netflix in 2020. The streaming giant had plans to restore the theater, and also use it as their official screening space for their films. After several years and a pandemic, we know when it’ll once again welcome audiences.

According to the American Cinematheque and Netflix, the reopening will take place November 9th. The first film to be shown will be David Fincher‘s “The Killer.” Fincher himself will be on hand for a Q & A following the feature.

There were also photos of the restoration included in today’s news:

The Egyptian Theatre will remain the home of the American Cinematheque. Specially curated features will continue to run Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The revitalized space will be used for special events, screenings and premieres Monday through Thursday. The theater will also host select theatrical runs of Netflix films open to the public.

Netflix also has an exclusive documentary film about the theater and restoration process coming November 9th. Check out a clip now:

Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
