Classic Cryptid Bigfoot Sighted from Colorado Train

The world is full of cryptids. Mysterious sightings, folktales, and blurry photographs are what keeps them enchanting. Like Santa Claus, the fun is keeping the myth going. But for a couple of passengers on a Colorado train, they think they may have just captured footage of one of the greats of cryptid lore. While traveling from Durango to Silverton, Shannon Parker and her husband captured footage of the elusive missing link between man and ape, known for his impressive footprint: Bigfoot himself.

    Patterson-Gimlin footage

To Parker’s credit, the footage of Sasquatch is the clearest anyone has ever taken. Gotta give credit to the technology of phones these days. Especially given how far away Mr. Foot actually was from the train. A zoomed in video was posted to the Out There Colorado Twitter.

Parker seemed shocked more people didn’t react to the sighting. It’s.. definitely a sighting. But of Bigfoot in the flesh? We’re not so sure. It really does look like a dude rented out a Harry Henderson suit to give train patrons something to talk about.

People on a train in southwest Colorado may have spotted 'Bigfoot.' Thoughts?

If you ask us, this Sasquatch is more of a Sus-quatch. Especially given the distance at which the original video is taken. At such a distance, Bigfoot’s little more than a speck on the hillside. Far enough away to make a costume look more convincing than not. Particularly given the quite human strut he makes over the terrain.

If Bigfoot is supposed to possess some apelike qualities, one might think a simian lumber would be more prominent. The sighting might even be away to promote the trainline and increase patrons who might hope to catch a sighting. But it’s all a bit of harmless fun, so no judgement towards Mr. Foot and his uncertain legitimacy.
