Elon Musk Auctioning Off Twitter Sign, Other ‘Memorabilia’

Like a man going through a bad break-up, Elon Musk is wanting to offload everything Twitter from the new X offices. Sorry, Elon, we’re still calling it Twitter. Hashtag sorry not sorry. But the “businessman” of many bizarre decisions is holding a rebranding auction. In which pieces of memorabilia from the Twitter offices will be auctioned off. Including the giant blue bird logo that’s still hanging outside the building. Though apparently you’ll have to hire an officially licensed company to remove it yourself.

Titled “Twitter Rebranding: Online Auction Featuring Memorabilia, Art, Office Assets & More!,” there are a number of things an interested party might find there. Including multiple signs and LEDs featuring the iconic blue bird logo, hashtags, and the @ symbol. The auction extends to furniture and appliances as well. More than likely featuring Twitter’s iconic blue color or the coffee table shaped like the little birdy we already miss. Apparently, there’s even a print of the Obamas being auctioned off.

The news of the auction comes only a month after Musk was forced to remove the giant, flashing X from the top of the once-Twitter building. Reprimanded thoroughly for it not being properly permitted, as well as disturbing surrounding apartments with its incessant flashing. One has to wonder whether this auction is a way for Musk to cover potential fines for essentially putting up the X logo without asking. In the meantime, we continue to watch Twitter melt like the skin off a Terminator. Revealing the terrifying endoskeleton underneath with its rictus grin and red eyes. The decisions made for the platform in the last month have only succeeded in making users extremely frustrated. How these are seen as positive changes is beyond us.

Rumors are this may be to help Musk make up for the building’s rent. Heritage Global Partners is hosting the action, which is scheduled for September 12th-14th.
