The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) shut down an operation to remove the Twitter logo and name from the newly rebranded X headquarters building. It was reported Elon Musk did NOT obtain proper permits required to have the equipment on the streets. SFPD was contacted at first due to suspicion that the sign parts were being stolen.
This entire situation is a classic case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. San Francisco city officials, SFPD, and even X headquarters security guards had no idea what was going on. With Musk’s choice to rename the brand to X, it makes sense that the building name would change too. The problem is that this change many not have happened the correct way.
Passersby stopped to watch the situation unfold at X headquarters, located on Market St. in San Francisco. Some noticed an argument between security guards and construction workers over the signage that had been removed from the building. The operation was stopped with about half the job completed, as the search for the building permits began.
Can we seriously not go one week without hearing something about X, or Musk these days? Since the purchase of Twitter by Musk, the headquarters building has been in the spotlight more than ever. It started when Musk refused to pay the building’s rent, and got weirder when he was seen carrying a sink through the building. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if aliens decided to make first contact at the building.
Musk and Twitter representatives have not commented about the situation at this time.
