“Rogers: The Musical” Opens at Disneyland This Week

“I can do this whole Plaaaay!”

At Disneyland Resort in Southern California, the last major attraction to remain closed since the pandemic is about to return in a big way! The Hyperion theater in Disney’s California Adventure was previously home to such major theatrical presentations as the “Aladdin” and “Frozen” musicals. It will once again welcome the public, this time featuring Marvel Studios’ Star Spangled Man with a plan, Captain America, with “Rogers: The Musical!”

Originally featured as a minute-long joke in the Disney+ series “Hawkeye” in 2021, “Rogers” has been expanded into a 41-minute experience with music, dancing and humor. It will focus mainly on the life of “a kid from Brooklyn” including his origin and joining the world’s premiere Super Hero team, The Avengers. (This article will not contain any spoilers.)

Employees of Disneyland (known as Cast Members) were given a special opportunity to preview the show this week. The excitement is palpable!

One cast member was very happy about the period costumes from the 1940s, which seemed wonderfully accurate. “It’s a fun time for park goers,” she enthused. Another cast member who loved the show mentioned the amazing cast. “They did an absolutely amazing job and it was a nice diverse group, too.”

We recommend this show to families visiting the parks because “It’s a mostly comedic retelling of the events of the Marvel Studios movies through the eyes of Steve Rogers.”

“Rogers: The Musical” premiers Friday June 30th. There will be four showings per day. It will run at The Hyperion theater Tuesdays through Fridays, and be dark Sundays and Mondays. There are opportunities for enhanced experiences when you buy a VIP experience at the red food truck and lounge area or through the Disneyland app. The show is scheduled to conclude it’s initial run on August 30th.
