Disneyland Getting “Big Hero 6” San Fransyoko Square Area

Disney Parks have announced plans for renovating the Pacific Wharf area in Disneyland’s California Adventure. Pacific Wharf first opened in 2001, and hasn’t been California Adventure’s most popular landmark. Many Californians considered it as sad attempt at popular historical locations. The area previously that held landmarks such as Yosemite and Hollywood will now become San Fransyoko from “Big Hero 6.”

This doesn’t mean that the eateries in Pacific Wharf will be replaced, though. Rather, they’ll be integrated into the new design in order to preserve the history of canneries in California. “Pacific Wharf is home to eateries featuring sourdough bread, ice cream sundaes, delicious Mexican fare, Asian dishes and more,” Disney Parks said. “You’ll still be able to enjoy all your favorite Pacific Wharf dining locations during this transformation.”

The biggest landmark to wow Disneyland guests will be the San Fransokyo Gate Bridge, which will lead to Paradise Gardens Park. Artist renderings look quite fetching, and attractively festooned in neon. No doubt a fantastic sight at night. There will be some new additions that should please previous naysayers. The Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería. It will combines Spanish, Japanese, and English styles with an outdoor beer garden for guests to enjoy.

Also coming to the new renovation is everyone’s favorite inflatable caretaker, Baymax! He’s already become a part of the 100 Years of Disney Celebration. A new meet-and-greet with “Big Hero 6” characters is coming, something Walt Disney World previously had. [It’s worth noting Tokyo Disney has a “Big Hero 6” ride, so maybe that’ll come to Anaheim, too?]

Obviously, the wharf needed a fresh coat of paint and something more fun to dazzle its patrons. And we can’t wait to explore it.
