    How Muslims Celebrate EID

Eid al-Fitr is the earlier of the two official holidays celebrated by Muslims. This celebration is celebrated by Muslims worldwide. Eid takes place at the end of Ramadan, a month of prayers and fasting from dusk to dawn. This celebration is carried out during the first three days of Shawwal.

The celebration symbolizes gratitude to God for the past month of reflection during fasting; they usually gather together as friends and family to celebrate this season. Many religious authorities rely upon the setting of the Eid crescent moon to determine the date on which the Eid al-Fitr celebration will fall upon.

    Fasting

During the Eid season, Muslims are not allowed to fast since the celebration symbolizes the end of fasting during Ramadan. The Ramadan period can vary yearly since Muslim religious leaders mostly rely upon the moon to determine when Ramadan should begin.

When the Eid celebrations are being carried out, Muslims celebrate Eid as a form of reflection that they carry out during the fasting season of Ramadan. The fasting occurs from morning to evening, and they are only allowed to eat at night. During fasting, Muslims mostly spend time in the Mosque praying.

    Praying

Most Muslims usually dress up to attend prayer sessions in the Mosque during the Eid season. Where they express their gratitude to Allah for the previous months. Before dawn, the Salaat ul-Fajr prayers take place, and they bathe before the Salaat al-Eid.

The Imam usually leads the Salaat al-Eid, and mainly explains how the prayer will be performed. The prayer is usually performed twice. During the prayers, adults and kids can go to the Mosque and pray to Allah.

Spending time with family and friends

The most exciting part about the Eid celebration is when the Muslims spend time with friends and families. During this time, they greet each other by saying Eid Mubarak, which means have a blessed day.

During the Eid celebrations, families and friends go to one house where they cook various foods and share. During the Eid celebrations, the families take time to gift each other with presents and gifts and just enjoy their time together.

    Decorating the home

The best part about the Eid celebration is the home decor. Muslims decorate their houses with Eid Mubarak decorations such as sprinkled stars and moonlighting to make the house vibrant.

They also hang many Eid balloons they mount around the house to make it prettier. Some people choose to use flower vases and candles around the house. And they arrange the dining table with various flowers.

    Giving to charity

Muslims take this Eid celebration time to share what they have with the less fortunate. Whether it’s their Muslim brothers or Christians, they share with everyone.

Some Muslims volunteer in kitchen soup shops where they help serve food and drinks to the poor, and some Muslims donate to the Mosque, which later takes these donations to charity.

The Eid celebration is a particular time for Muslims worldwide, usually after the Ramadan season of fasting and prayers. During this celebration, Muslims show gratitude to Allah for the past season, and share with friends and families by gifting each other and decorating their homes. Most importantly, they give to charity as a form of sharing.
