The House From “A Christmas Story” is up For Sale!

The Parker’s iconic home from “A Christmas Story” is up for sale for the first time in 18 years! The house, located at 3159 West 11th Street, Cleveland, OH was the focal point of Bob Clark’s 1983 family Christmas classic.

This three-story home was built in 1895. The property was last purchased on eBay in 2004 by Brian Jones. It was in such disrepair it required a complete renovation on the inside and out, to get back to its former glory. Jones put the work in and by November of 2006 it was ready to be open for public tours. And “A Christmas Story” fans were champing at the bit considering it has welcomed over a million guests so far. It currently boasts 75,000 annual paying guests.

But here is the thing, this listing isn’t just for the Parker’s home. The entire campus is currently up for grabs which includes five buildings on seven parcels, covering 1.3 acres. These five buildings are a museum, gift shop, rental property, and the Bumpus’ house! That’s right this listing isn’t just for one but TWO homes featured in  “A Christmas Story.” Jones has also been offering the Bumpus and Parker homes for overnight rentals.

The museum and the gift shop are even located in retrofitted homes to not disturb the suburban feel we see in the film. And if that isn’t enough this also includes two public and one private parking lot, and two empty lots. Giving the new owner plenty of opportunity for more expansion if they so choose.  While there is currently no price tag listed the owner says he is “Looking for the right buyer.” “It’s an interesting property to not only own, but you also have to take care of as a piece of Americana. It’s going to be an interesting journey,” Jones said in an interview.

Luckily unlike a lot of real estate listings we cover here at Nerdbot, this one encourages lookie-loos, for a price. Since the home will remain open for tours throughout the selling process. It’s clear Jones cares deeply about this property but with a much-anticipated sequel and the holidays coming up, now is really the perfect time to sell. We just hope the new owner cares for it as much as he does.
