NASA Launches New Totally Real UFO Investigation Program

2022 seems to be the year we’ve set out to prove or disprove aliens exist. Earlier this year, Congress held a public hearing on UFOs (unidentified flying objects) for the first time in 50 years. In July 2022, the Pentagon announced the creation of an office to track unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs). Or as the general public calls them- UFOs.

In June, NASA announced it would begin its own investigation. For 9 months, a group of 16 researchers will dig into UAPs and UFOs. This research will rely heavily on unclassified data. Sources will include things like civilian government entities, commercial data, and data from other sources.

Though when the announcement was made, NASA pointed out the lack of existing research on UAPs/UFOs “makes it difficult to draw scientific conclusions about the nature of such events.” This study will hopefully provide more data to make a more scientific conclusion possible. The team’s findings will be turned into a report that will be accessible to the public sometime next year.

NASA’s UFO 16-person research team is diverse and includes professors, scientists, an oceanographer, and other space explorers. Some members include former astronaut Commander Scott Kelly, as well as science journalist and contributing writer at National Geographic Nadia Drake.

This study will begin today and is designed to “lay the groundwork for future study on the nature of UAPs for NASA and other organizations,” according to a press release. Though NASA still maintains there is currently no evidence that connects UAPs to extraterrestrial life. But it certainly seems that they haven’t ruled it out.
