4 Tips to Infuse Creativity into Your Life

Every now and again it’s good to shake things up a bit. Life can sometimes feel a bit humdrum – and this can affect everything from work to family relationships.

Being stuck in a rut can make anyone feel out of sorts and as though they need a change – but how to go about it? It can be as simple as looking at different hobbies or activities that can put a spring in the step and a song in the heart.

Stuck for inspiration? Here’s a helpful guide and a few tips to help get a little bit of creativity back into life.

    Pick up a paintbrush…

Don’t worry if art lessons feel scary – or if the thought of creating a masterpiece seems too daunting. It’s easier than ever to pick up and paintbrush and be guided by some simple rules with fantastic ideas like adult paint by numbers kits. They’re a brilliant way to unleash some creativity in a guided format. Consider trying them to build some confidence with art and with color – who knows, they could even help inspire some original artworks down the line.

    Unleash your inner ‘big kid’

There’s something to be said for silliness – whether that’s jumping up and down on a trampoline, diving into a swimming pool, or doing wheelies on a bicycle. Our inner ‘big kid’ sometimes deserves to be let loose in order for us to feel free and happy. Go on…try something different and play like a child. Use the swings and slides at the park, run free in the woods, paddle on the beach. It’ll make everything seem much happier!

    Read something you normally wouldn’t

Try a different type of book. Normally read romance or chick lit? Switch it up and try some historical biographies. If sci-fi is the norm, why not read some crime fiction instead? The ideas aren’t exhaustive.

Think about different genres of literature or areas that hold an interest – no matter how vague. Finding a new author or subject to read about can really inspire learning and a thirst for knowledge that can become infectious.

    All together now…“Ommmm”

There has never been a better time to add meditation into a daily routine. Taking a little time every morning or evening to sit, be still, and find a tranquil moment can help with refocusing and the ability to channel more creativity.

Meditation can help still a busy mind and get rid of negative energy which inhibits the flow of creativity. The simplest and easiest way to get started is to try the most well-known position of the ‘downward-facing dog’ which can help to get blood flowing and induce a feeling of relaxation.

    Conclusion

Getting creative energy flowing can produce real feelings of euphoria, especially if it comes after a period of worry or stress. The humdrum of everyday life sometimes needs shaking up in order to feel less anxious. Trying out some new ideas or hobbies like these can help maintain a better status quo and achieve a stronger equilibrium.
